Sew Luv Strip'n Back Pack

Hey guys, Katie here! Today I wanted to share with you this backpack I made for my Mom, Tabatha (who is also on the LMF design team!). She had this fabric "license plate" she's been wanting to use, but hasn't yet so she picked out these cute Love My Fabrics fabrics, and I stitched up this fun backpack.

We picked out some fabrics from the Deer collection, the Thank You collection and the Walk through the Forest collection.

I've posted a tutorial on how to make a drawstring backpack on my blog, which you can find here.
I felt the bag needed a little extra embellishment, so I added a strip of lace tape from Love my Tapes underneath the license plate.

Thanks for stopping by! -Katie and Tabatha

Walk through the Forest Bear Bag

Hey guys, Katie here! Today I wanted to share this "Bear Bag" that I made using the Walk through the Forest collection. I *love* this bear fabric. I think it's just so very adorable.

I'm making a trip to Colorado soon, and I love using little bags like this to hold things (phone, kindle, etc) when I travel. I thought the bear theme would be perfect for Colorado.

I wanted to add a pop of contrasting color, so I used a mint colored zipper and I also added some lace tape by Love My Tapes along the top edge of the bag.

Crocheted Purse

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today.

I love to crochet and made this little crocheted purse.

I needed to add a lining so I chose fabric from Lovemyfabrics and stitched together a lining.

I didn't need much - less than 1/4 yard.  I sewed the top edges for a finished look and stitched together the sides.

Now that it's lined, this crocheted purse can hold lots of items for that special night out.

Don't forget to stop by the store and see all the fabrics that are available.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Wait! I can do zippers!

I don't know about you... But, I've been avoiding zippers... They seem hard, right?? Fiddly and complicated. Well, looks can be deceiving!! I spend a good portion of my time searching the endless internet for patterns. Plus, I'm multi-craftual and was looking for quick and easy patterns to make some knitting project bags. I found THIS wonderful tutorial on the Noodlehead website, and have now ordered an embarrassing number of zippers so that I can supply all my family and friends with the zipper pouches of their dreams!! The tutorial gives 3 choices for sizes, but I've made several and just adjusted the size to the zippers that I have. My daughter put in several orders for her friends, and I've now got some project bags to carry around my {too numerous} knitting works in progress! Plus tool bags for my sewing, pencil bags for the kids, make up bags for travelling... The possibilities are endless!! I hope you'll try them out, the directions are very clear, and you'll be adding zippers in no time!
The first bags were the result of being snowed in for several days in a row... My daughter and I "needed" something to do! Here's her new pencil case...

Then knitting, I make scarves to donate to a local shelter and I needed a bag to keep in the car with the newest scarf in it (to knit while waiting for the kids after school and at their activities)...

and, of course, my daughter showed her bag to her friend and she "needed" one too...

I hope you'll give zippers a try!!
